I find accents really attractive. My hubbys Sunderland accent is sexy. I also like Scottish accents and any foreign accent, French, Italian, turkish - so sexy. Is it just me or do others like a nice accent? ps Il divo singing - corr!!!

There are some accents I love, like a Yorkshire or a Leicestershire accent. But a West Country or Liverpudlian accent turns me right off! French and Spanish accents are lovely too!

irish!

Cor' me plates of meat aint arf urtin', been up an dahn the apples and pears once to often, got a 'rosie lee' at the mo, 'beut' but the old minces are a bit sore, and me barnets gone a bit thin also, tomorrow got to go round the jack horner to see a mate.

So whats wrong with a bit of cockney?, if there are any left.

I like most accents but I am sorry to say and a bit embarassed as I was born in London, but I cannot stand the Cockney accent. It sounds sooooo common. I am bowing my head in shame now!

Maggie, unfortunately, I have to agree with you to a certain extent, I lost my accent years ago, can still put it on if I want, I like it when its spoken properly, but its not one that easy on the ears.
When I was at uni, there were lots of girls from the North East and although I couldn't really distinguish between Durham, Newcastle or Sunderland, (Don't tell your hubby) I did like the musical quality of their voices. I'm from London myself and and sad to say hate the accent.
love a geordie accent ! im a scouser and scouse girls sound horrid !
West coast of Scotland ! Irish and my favourite accent ever is Afrikaan (sp?) I could listen to that all day!

I love accents too! I wish I had an accent but I am just plain old Enlish, BBC style accent, I'm afraid to say, nothing very interesting. Probably comes from travelling round the world as a little girl, going to school in only private English schools etc etc...Very Very boring. The only place I ever went as an adult (aged 19/20) where I actually felt like I had an accent, was the US where loads of people said (hey, I love your accent, honey!!) hehehehe.

needlesss to say, I adore any accent in any person, and am quite good at impersonating accents because i listen so carefully to them (very sad, I know.) But I guess my favourite is my husband's: He has a very posh accent! It just makes me die. My next fav has to be French.....perfect! next; southern Irish; next south African; next Australian; next US. and then any in any particular order....least favourite: has to be welsh I just can't understand what they are saying!

Yow've gora goo a long rowud befower yow con bate the Blackcountry accent aer kid.It ay arf Bostin!

has to be an Irish accent
yes most definately an irish accent . woohhhhh

Orlaith off big brother

God a couple of words in an Irish accent and I am a quivering jelly .. love it !!!
I was in the US with a group of americans who were discussing a posh ameriacan bloke (ivy school etc, a bit like our toff). One of the females in the group commented on his speech and how she just loved it. It transpired and all present agreed (have heard references to this on american TV as well) that what they liked about his sppech was that it lacked any accent. I had to burst out laughing as to me he sounded...well... American.
Southern Irish...Mmmm!!!!

I'm with maggie01. I am from the East End of London and I hate the cockney accent! Maybe in days gone by it may have had an endearing charm, but nowadays it just seems too 'put on' and fake. Awlright geezah!

I quite like the idea of a young husky French lady whispering in my ear, but that has nothing to do with the accent!

I love a Geordie accent, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up! I used to hate Scottish accents until I met my husband, he's from Dundee! I still hate the Brummie accent though.

I think accents are nice when there is a hint of them, but they are not too strong. I have a horrible London accent, but when I was in America I kept getting told that it was 'quaint'!
