why is elon musk so afraid and in disapproval of artificial intelligence when his tesla cars are pretty much the same thing but way more likely to be able to kill someone it seems like a double standard maybe is he just intimidated

He refers to an overall, near zero, danger; not specific incidents of things going wrong. But IMO it's more about publicity than real concern anyway. Maybe he hopes to get others to pause such R&D while he catches up ?

One of the worries is that it will soon be impossible to know what's real and what isn't, at least when you're looking at a screen.

E.g you could have a zoom meeting with someone and not be able to tell if you're interacting with some kind of deep fake visual/ chatbot combination.

Also, AI can create graphics, write music, essays etc etc that are pretty much indistinguishable from human output. It may seem trivial but it has all kinds of implications.

someone asked ChatGBT for help in researching an article. It directed him to a piece in the Guardian. But he couldn't find the full article anywhere so he contacted the guy who wrote it. Long story short, the writer thought it sounded like his work but he'd never written it. AI was good enough to fake his work.
