What is the best nickname you have heard and why.


I once had a mate who we nicknamed coupon {as in football coupon} because he kept getting filled in {beat up} every weekend.


apologies if this has been raised before as relatively new to AB.

A guy in our office is known as "Pilot light" because he never goes out.

I heard somone in a TV play with bipolar disorder nicknamed 'Otis', after the lfy company.


My woodwork teacher at school was Mr. Callear, who attracted the soubriet 'Crystal'.


My history teacher was Mr Makin, so somewhat obviously he was 'History in the Makin'.

I love the skeleton bob guy, whose nickname is 'Dr. Ice'. How cool is that.

andy, you have just reminded me, this was'nt a nickname but when my sister-in-law {surname makin} had her 1st child, they had'nt decided on a name so the nurse put the wristband on the new born with the words BABY MAKIN
I know a guy who gets called Dave, because when he was younger he looked a lot like Rodney (Dave) from Only Fools and Horses.
My cousin has a friend called 'Banksy'...they call him that because since he got a girlfriend he only ever goes out on Bank Holidays. Weird one, but true!

I have two great nicknames and both are real


Stereo for a bloke we know with two hearing aids,


18 months for a bloke because he only has one and a half ears, a dog bit off half of an ear when he was a kid he doesn't mind at all. has a job keeping his glasses on though

My dad had a friend who they used to call Mixy (never met him my dad just talked about him) , i assumed this was because he was called Micheal or something. One day i asked my dad why he said it was because he was boz eyed and they called him Mixy after the disease rabbits get!!

We've got a 28 year old bald mate called 'chemo', as in chemotherapy. Not very pc.


There's also a bloke in work we call 'The Bismarck', because he is always sinking everyone around him.

A boy at my work get called 'Vic' as a nick name, he hasn't worked out why, but it's because he gets right up your nose.
We used to call a guy in our department 'Thrush' cause he was an irritating little tw4t..
Guy at our work is a double for Ned Flanders - cue the okley dokley every time he appears
I have a friend called 'Toastie' because he used to work in a crematorium.
Toastie...LOL!!!!

A boy at school was called 'slappy' because in primary school another boy said god slapped all the strange things in the world together and came out with him.


I know, it's awful but it carried on all the way through secondary school and apparantly now, uni!


He's actually an alright guy as well... :)

Bloke I used to work with, we used to call him treasure, and he always thought it was an affectionate pet name but in actual fact we called him treasure because no-one knows where the f*ck we dug him up from

following Kick's response my husband gets called Rodney because his name is Dave.


Rodney is on golf tour at the mo with 20 guys who all have nick names - a lot of them you have to know the history. One guy is really pale & thin - he's known as Mr Dead or Skull!


. Another guy bears a resemblance to one of the cast of It aint half hot Mumm - La di da Gunner Graham is his tag.


One guy,John, has just celebrated his 50th and is shortly relocating to Vienna - he's recently been adorned with the moniker of Johann the Elder!


Two guys are quite dour and are known independently as Sad Simon & Dismal Dave. however they have been collectively described as The Chuckle Brothers!


Other names are Boycie ( he runs a garage), Cockney Wa***er, (self explanatory) Porn star (guy has a 70's style tache)


I'm sure there will be many more after this weekend!

A boy at school had sticky out ears and we called him 'wing nut'.





We have a "Camel"(because he's always got the hump) "Pearl" (Surnames Harber),Flossy(He's from Wales), and Fred (a builder originally from Gloucester).Who all drink in the local boozer.


Oh my nicknames "Big John Holmes",by the way!
