Sometimes in life the cards don't fall right for some people, ie being made unemployed/ unplanned preganacy etc, so people should,nt hold judgement on all who claim benefits, and try to see the individuals circumstances.
Ps, By the way i don't like people that Clearly scronge of the state, and make no attempt to put back into society.
Oh dear.
Is this about me? I didn't mean it. I'm not even sure why I said it, to tell the truth.
Everyone gets benefits. I earnt my mum a whopping 15 a week back in the day, and my younger brother and sister brought in their bit too. My aunt is insane, and as well as her pension she also gets money for being mad. I'm not sure why. I'm actually in favour of them.
The benefits system is great (though not perfect) I think what gets peoples backs up are the extreme cases (like the one in the newspapers recently...man with 15 children multiple partners...wants a bigger house etc).
What makes me laugh is that the people I know who at some time or another have had to claim benefits were made to feel like criminals by the process, and yet these extreme cases seem to be able to get away with it relatively easily.
Artemis......you're a lucky person to be able to say that but nobody knows what the future holds. You may be unfortunate and suffer severe problems with no prior warning, but just be thankful that this country [UK] has a decent welfare system as a safety net as silly moo says.
Of course it can be abused by the unscrupulous but the majority of benefit claimants would rather be fit and well and contributing to society.
