I was on holiday in a caravan at Hopton (next place along the coast to Corton if you mean the one in Suffolk!) when the men landed on the moon in 1969.

Yeah it wasn't far from there, they were the good old days, everyone knew everyone same people every year and everyone spoke to everyone else!!!

You obviously know where i mean then electric????

I know where you mean but we used to stay at corton beach, everyone was so friendly back then.was down road from your place.
I live about five miles from Corton and the once popular caravan site is now a Warners holiday camp..there is a nudist beach there now and it's still a lovely little place mostly unspoilt unlike Hopton which is now a wall to wall housing estate.

Think it was warners that bought out corton caravans, they then got rid of that and its been a water refinery or something for years now!

yes, I remember Corton Caravans & Chalets in Stirrups Lane, Corton

Had two good holidays there is 1975 & 1976, was such a friendly place, and small enough to get to know every one.

It remained closed for years and I took some pictures before it was demolished to make way for the new Corton Sewage works

Hello. I used to go to Corton Caravans every year in the 70's and 80's with my mum and dad. We used to go for the first two weeks in July. We usually stayed in caravan O1 and were called Nuts. Crackers were the even numbers.
My mum still keeps in contact with friends she met there, and ironically, my dad's ashes are scattered there!
We used to have a great time there as kids, with Uncle Ronnie and his fun and games.
When we knew the new owners, reletives of the Potters down the road, I was asked to be in their brochure and on one of their postcards. (If anyone has it, I'm the one on the rope swing in the adventure playgroud that covered the old railway line)
Anyway, if you'd like more info, just let me know on here.
I hope this helps.
