Walkden, Manchester

How convienient is Walkden for commuting to Manchester city centre? Is there a good rail or bus service? I have a lovely new apartment there that is rarely rented and want to know if the area is undesirable/unpopular or the letting agents useless. The rent seems in line with similar apartments.

Depends what part of Walkden. It's quite a large place. Mainly ok though. Plenty of buses into MAnchester, esp near the East Lancs Rd.

Thanks for that. You obviously know the area. Which roads are the nicest/best placed (for a renter) and which are not, for what reason?
