Some of us very old folks may remember going on anti-war marches in the olden days. Now I understand there will be one in London and one in Glasgow to make a stand against war in Iraq in February. Does anyone know when and where?

On the grounds that prevention is better than cure - there is a place for a demo before the event rather than when we are stuck in the middle of endless conflict. How is it anti American to want to express a wish to prevent casualties on all sides, including the US? If we know what WOM destruction Iraq has (possibly because we supplied them in the first place) perhaps we could wait for the UN to try more peaceful means of disarming them. By attacking a country not in our league in terms of weapons and armed forces, do we not just give the dictators and terrorists a helping hand with their propaganda and "victim of the western world" mentality? I may well be wrong on the issues, but in answer to your question "Who cares?" - I do and so do lots of other people, not least the families of the service people who have been sent to the region from the US and the UK. Maybe it takes as much "bottle" not to throw your weight around but to treat people (even Arabs!) with respect. Trust me, if I wanted to make an anti-American statement I would if it was justified, but that's not the issue here.
