AB aliases

Hi all, I've noticed that a lot of ABers have 'aliases' and are registered under several different names.

My question is, how do the other ABers work out who the aliases actually are - because it does seem that they get 'outed' pretty quickly. Is it writing style, continual spelling mistakes, references to old threads...? HOW DO YOU DO IT?!! x.

Well it's usually a mixture of all of the above. In some cases they actually tell us too- which is helpful!

I don't actually mind aliases if they are funny, easily spottable and are not posting evil threads. The annoying ones are the ones who make an alias to delibrately cause trouble.

I also find the ones who create aliases to talk to themselves are just well....wierd and creepy!

I agree - love the 'Mr. Harris/Mrs. Harris/bobtheturkey' threads! Eeew, do people really have aliases just so they can talk to themselves?!!

Sadly yeah purplelilly (love the name by the way!). Some even have the bl00dy cheek to complain about aliases when they themselves have at least half a dozen!

Ive had various names coz i get bored with them.Everyone susses me by my style of writing apparently. And coz I call women "birds".

i only have one ID which is this one and a second that is used for one particular aspect of Ab which has editorial approval and does not have the report facility attached to it's profile. ;)

As my last post has gone because of a techno glitch (lol) i shall again post as the new greenie (temp) me, and say that I just (now) have this temporary emergency back up that i just registered, dot.hawkes which is at the moment suspended by the bots cos of the said techno glitch, and a persona used occasionally when the opportunity arrises that has ABed approval and no facility to report. ;)

The writing style is a dead giveaway. Esecially if you are a fairly old and well known user. With so many moderately intelligent and perceptive AB users around, aliases have a very remote chance of remaining 'hidden' for long, methinks.

i have created this alias,i use it to answer and ask more serious questions.my other name has turned into a bit of a jokey character now and it does not get respectful answers.

I know what you mean BOO, there is at least one who has created an alias and talks to himself, I've given up arguing with him/them now, if they go to such great lenghts why bother?

The people who accuse others of having alises are usually the ones that have one themselves.Well that is my experience anyway.
