I'm sure I've heard the death explained in an Aladdin as "a bizarre laundry accident", or "a bizarre ironing accident" - something like that...

Surely Mr Twanky could have died any number of years ago. Mrs T doesn't give me the impression that nobody else could have been the father.

Pantomime is largely made up as it goes along, so the answer is whatever you want it to be.

Now then boys and girls - settle down. She may be a widow when she starts the pantomime but everybody knows that by the finale - W. Twankey ends up living in sin with Abanazer (who was the baddie but is now reformed.) Alladin goes to live in the palace with Princess Lotus Blossom and Wishey Washey ends up Gay. OH YES HE DOES !
