Me and my friend were talking about this when we were out last night. I had just got up quite early and put TV on about 8.30am to Tony Blair giving a speech, thought it was someone important like Mrs Thatcher, couldn't believe it when he said her name about 3 minutes into the speech. I rang my Mum and woke her up wioth the news straightaway!

'Dodi Al Fayed is dead!' We were all shocked and when I got home and turned on the net, an American told me - 'Diana too'

I was staying at my sister's in Sutton, my mom had come to visit London house-hunting for the weekend, i remember we got up early beacause she wanted to go into London early. I was in the kitchen washing up when my mom shouted "come and look at this quick " we watched the news and both started to cry. Never met the lady but her death really got to me , i think i kind of grew up with her presence in the limelight. The train journey into London was very solem ,weird sensation. Before we were going back up North we decided to put some flowers by Kensington Palace. A very sad day , still missed
I was getting ready to go to bed when the news came on the radio about the accident. I went downstairs to get more details from the TV. At about 3am there was a report saying that her injuries were only minor, and that she had been seen walking outside the car with only a broken arm. I thought "OK then, I'll just wait for it to be confirmed and then I can go to sleep" so then I stayed up until her death was confirmed. It was more emotional having the news stretched out over 4 or 5 hours than it would have been to hear it all in one go.
It was my daughters 4th birthday that day and we were taking her to the seaside. I awoke and my partner told me she had been in a crash and was critical, it wasn't until i turned on the tv and they informed us that she had died. That day at the seaside it was a very weird and sombre mood i can tell you.
