My mum will be 50 soon, and i need a good present idea, but it HAS to be something i can get sent over the internet. It doesnt have to be a thing, it could also be an experience or anything else you guys can come up with. I just dont want to have to resort to flowers or chocolate.
Many thanks in advance.

How about a red letter day, for something she realy likes, or has'nt tried before e.g a day at a spa, a hot air baloon ride, drive a racing car, there are loads of things. Just google Red letter days.

Hope she has a great time whatever you choose.
For my mums 70th I got her a trip on the Orient Express!! It was to Brighton with a Murder Mystery scenario going onboard, you met the actors (in persona) and had to guess whodunnit on the way back. She had a fantastic time. It caters for the older person so there wasn't much walking to do (except around the pavillion) and the luxury and service was out of this world (her words). They do loads of trips to other places depending on where you are in the country, but I thought "Murder on the Orient Express" was what she would have picked herself. Have a look on their website.
Red Letter Days went bankrupt didn't it?

I'm taking my mum on holiday for her 50th next year - we're going to the Greek Islands in the spring for a long weekend. Cheap flights, s/c apartment so not too pricey, but makes her feel a bit pampered. She's just thrilled to be spending a couple of days with me and my sister witghout us being busy with our jobs.
Hi hanna,

For mrs sparx special birthday, I booked her a flying lesson, she loved it, Or what about a show or concert followed by a meal, Good luck, Ray
Not an expensive gift but something different - when I was forty, my hubby made up a package full of sweeties which I would have had during my youth. He went to an old fashioned sweetie shop and bought me such things as sherbet fyling saucers, coldsfoot rock, barley sugar twists, cola cubes, black jacks and fruit salads etc. He put all the small bags in a lined and padded shoe box and wrapped it up beatifully. I had a lovely time opening each packet and reminiscing - you could do that as an extra for her - all the sweeties that were around 50 years ago !! Good Luck. Doll xx
Hi hannah

Another little extra could be a newspaper from the day/date she was born. Past Times used to do this (hope they still do) get in touch with them and give the exact dates and they will post a copy of the newspaper to you.

Whatever you choose I'm sure you'll make her day special.
i will be 50 next year also and hubby is taking me for a weekend somewhere and a flight in a hot air balloon.
My son bought my wife a ticket to fly eagles and harris hawks at a Bird of Prey Sanctuary. These can be gotten off the internet.
She loved it.
two coincidences here,
1) I am 50
2) my son's great great great great grandfather was called Harris Hawkes, he was born in Great Missenden Buckinghamshire in 1816.

for my 50th my kids got me a grandfather clock.
Hi Doth Bet he could'nt fly like those birds. Never seen anything like it.
By the way should'nt you have had a grandmother clock?
Al
WH Smiths will sell you a plot of land on an estate in Scotland and with it comes the title of a lord or lady. Its only about 30 and you buy it over the net, we bought my father one for his 60th it's a bit of fun and something different.
