well our mayor used to be the football mascot for hartlepool football club which happens to be hangus the monkey, well shammydodger is it a myth@ the legend as been around for centuaries,i actually dont like the french much, maybe thats somthing way back from my past maybe it was a long distant relitive of mine who done the deed who knows?

Wonder Years - It would be lovely if the monkey-hanging story was true, but it seems that Hartlepool isn't the only town in Britain with such a story, which makes me think it may be a myth.

ermmmmm? truly? well, my bro and sis in law live near here and I'd had enough of the snobby politics of the management company of my leasehold flat. Still, put up with it for 12 years lol...
I do like Canterbury though.... and my main man now has to commute from Ashford lol..... most interesting, train politics :-) Haven't been to Sheppey but will be doing the tour of the Kentish Flats, have you done that?....

i know shammydodger, its about in cornwall as well it just seems to please people when you say were your from they allways seem to mention the monkey thing, in a way it sort of puts hartlepool on the map prob nobody would know, were hartlepool was if it wasent for the monkey thing is your user name to do with you being a bad window cleaner,[sorry just a joke i ,ve said before i,ve spent half me life wondering and the other half joking]

Never done the tour of the Kentish Flats, it's quite strange really I bet there are loads of people who have done things further afield without giving a second thought to what's on their own doorstep!
