Where is the worst place to live in Britain?

Im going for Rotherham (South Yorks) because it has the highest rate of teenage pregnancies in the UK and now mums are passing their kids junk food throught the school gates and the place just seems so tacky. I have been there so I know the place 1st hand before you jump down my throat.
Maybe im wrong about Rotherham and can put me right but does anyone know of a more worse place to live?

Wasn't Nottingham voted as having the most violent crime and gun-related death rates not so long ago? Got to say, I find Dudley painfully depressing most days, but probably only because I have to work there! :oD
Sunderland
Anyone ever been to Portsmouth?
I think the question should have been re-punctuated to this.

Where is the worst place to live? In Britain.
Naz is probably right as one day there will be not one original Brit left!!!

I have to say its Grimsby!! The name says it all - grim......nobody actually decides to go to Grimsby, they just end up there at the end of the 180 or take a wrong turning.....it's dead, it's grim, it's a dump......it's nasty......stabbings, crime, teenage pregnancies..... pervs....immigrants...the lot...horrid place!!
well, dizzieblonde, i've lived in nottingham now for the past 20 years, like all cities & towns there are good & bad people, there are rough parts & nice parts, i've seen some bad things happen but the majority of people in nottingham are very friendly & helpful, i wouldn't move any where else!
Zorro, what have you got against Sunderland?

others have given their reasons.

I couldn't live in Brighton either - every time I've been, I just seem to bump into snobby, pretentious, London-wannabees! I'm sure it has some lovely people, but it's not for me.
lancs,
An NHS hospital ! - Overcrowded, dirty, slow, violent, keep you waiting, inefficient, try and fob you off to save money, and the added bonus of MRSA.

Yes folks and this is supposedly the 4th wealthiest Country - well it might have been before it was overrun by all and sundry. Result the whole Country now mirrors these woes.
Personally (at least for people growing up) I'd say any one of the remote villages with no public transport and no close by town
Anyone ever been to Portsmouth?

Yes thanks Captain, many times, and I've seen plenty of places worse. Dagenham, Aldershot and Slough have always struck me as resolutely depressing, as well as the Leigh Park area of Havant. I've never spent enough time up North to comment on anywhere up there.
Ive lived in Nottingham all my life and as allotment10 said, i wouldnt want to live anywhere else. I dont believe it is as bad as the papers make out...they just need to pick on someone! Nottingham rules
I too live in Nottingham, it is a certain part of town where the trouble is, not in the city centre. I have been here for all my 32 years and wouldn't move...
archie & madham - well, nice to know i'm not the only AB'r here in nottm, we proberly pass each other sometimes but alas we will never know!! :-)
Who's dissing Brighton?? ah, if you come at the weekend, it's a sea of DFL's ('Down from London's'). Us locals are lovely - honest :o)
how is your ankle madham?
come have a look at Harlow, biggest housing estate in the uk
Is it just me?????????
or does anyone else think tha naz_nomad needs to get laid :-)
naz-nomad is not far off the mark you know. Try living in another Country like I have and you'll soon see the difference.
