I can't remember the url's off hand, but you could Google for: Superior Real Estate; Buy Sell Cyprus; For Sale Cyprus. All these have "Houses for Restoration" sections on their websites. If you are really sure you want the Paphos area then I'd recommend Superior as a starting point; they're not the cheapest, but they offer good no-obligation service. Really the best way is to go to Paphos - preferably well off-season - for a couple of weeks, hire a car (I can recommend a good company for that too!) and spend a few days driving ropund the area and seeing what's for sale. There are any number of wrecks going in the Paphos villages - cruise round looking for For Sale signs, go into the local coffee shops and ask if there's anything available, and buy the Cyprus Mail and Cyprus Weekly and read through the small ads. We started off looking for an old stone house in the Paphos area and finally settled on one in a mountain village in the Troodhos! Good luck!
Sorry, tamirra, I didn't notice it was you posting! How near to Paphos do you want to be? Do you have a favoured side of the city? Are you looking for a small village or a busier place? I can probably make some more suggestions if I have a clearer idea of what you're looking for and what areas you'd be happy with.
Hi Narolines,
yes i would like a busier place like Paphos, we have looked at a couple of stone houses in Cyprus last week, one was in a tiny village up a mountain in Limmasol, well what can i say, it was a shack with two rooms holes in the roof ceiling and full of large boulders, i know this could have all been resored to original standards and we would have needed to build a top floor, but i couldnt live in a small traditional village, i felt so out of place i jusr couldnt get on there, Marios ( my hubby) would have loved it, he is fluent in the language and i can just pick out the odd word, then we saw a 2 acre piece of land to build a new place, but my god it was near enough on the top of Troodos mountain, we were literally in the clouds, i was so frightened as im petrified of heights,it was light when we went and dark whenwe go back thats how long it took to get there, so that was a no no too, so im looking for the busy part of Paphos, Kato, or such like, not too far from airport though. See what you can do for us hun. Thankyou. xxxxxx

OK - give me a day or two and I'll see what I can come up with. My good friend Eleana who works for Superior has unfortunatrely been moved to Nicosia, but I should be able to find a couple of useful contacts for you. You really don't know what you're missing in the high mountain villages, you know; ours is lovely - friendly, cool in the summer, several really good wineries.......still, if you insist, Paphos it is!! :-)
