They can't be struck off because they have been dead for 400 years. To be eligible they have to be dead a long time.
It certainly seems that Pope Sixtus V decanonised St Clement of Alexandria in the 16th century. More recently, in the 1960s, during a period of 'modernisation', the Catholic Church removed several 'saints' from their calendar of feast-days, on the grounds that they may never even have existed! St Nicholas, St Valentine and St Brigit were among those affected, though there was, I believe, no specific decanonisation ceremony as such.

St Christopher was 'de-sainted' (in the 60s or 70s I think), by the Pope. I think it was because he was suspected of being mythical rather than real. So all those St Christopher medals don't work anymore.

I think that you will find that St Christopher is still a saint but is no longer a patron saint.
I think you will find that he aint a saint pal
St. Christopher is most certainly still a saint. QUIZmonster, I believe that you are quite mistaken in what you have posted, but I shall do more research when I'm able.
Saints Simply 'aints'; no such thing; church propaganda; catholic nonsense; delusionism; ***! Quizmonster quote "modernisation of the catholic church"... if the catholic church came up to speed with the rest of the world, the pope would say "OK, we've had you on for centuries! Time to come clean! As from next Monday, the catholic church will cease to exist!" Now THAT would be a real move to modernisation!

We all know it won't happen though! The church has far too much power over the common man to allow such a thing to occur!

'Intelligent christian' is the biggest oxymoron known to mankind, followed closely by 'intelligent muslim'!

Think about it (although I am probably addressing the wrong audience).
