All I've ever wanted to do since I was 7 years old, and saw my first pictures of the place, is to visit Britain. Last year I was lucky enough to be invited for a two week holiday and I ended up staying for the duration of my visa; 6 months. The things that you Brits take for granted are often so wonderful to others. The places to go, the things to do, the countryside etc. Your shops have such a wide variety of good quality merchandise. You can't legally buy fake goods. You have freedom of travel in your own countries and abroad. You have freedom of speech. Your newspapers tell it like it is. You have some very interesting TV programmes. Your standard of life is very high. Your housing is very good. You have a wonderful health system. Your police are excellent and can be trusted. The crime levels are comparitively low.
I could go on. I am intending to stay in England from September to study at a Northern College. My dream come true.

quite true. plus our police don't carry guns or adopt a shoot to kill policy. We have a high quality of life, a national health system, a welfare state which assists the unemployed (so you don't slowly starve if you're unemployed).... democracy so we get to choose who runs us..... education for all....... chijiki thanks for those words, really puts it into context about how lucky we really are sometimes.
