Una Paloma Blanca sounds Spanish to me and George Baker was lead singer of George Baker Selection. The following is taken from site of George Baker (after he went solo from his Selection):
"....But Baker didn't retire: as a solo artist he continued writing and performing songs, resulting in hits like 'Rosita', 'Sing for the day', 'All my love' and 'Magdalena'. In the early eighties Baker moved to Spain where he made good records like 'Wild Flower' and 'The Winds of Time', but somehow these didn't sell very well. "
