There's been a bridge to nowhere for years now on the old M41 at White City, designed to give access for a shopping mall to be built connecting it with the currently dead-ended Ariel Way (where the QPR fans park opposite the BBC). The last time I drove past this year there were still no signs of activity besides the usual caravan site, so what's the story? It's been about then years now, and counting.

Well I don't know the full story but apparently it's scheduled to OPEN in 2007.

Yep, you've got it. That's a long time between constructing the access road and then having to get planning permission! I bet it isn't even half done by 2007, but I managed to find the official site here http://www.chelsfield.com/wchome.htm
Thanks for that David. It was very informative but I share your doubt about the opening date.
