Whatever does anyone see in this person?

I do not find him in any way comical, or amusing. His voice & actions irritate me so much, I can't wait to switch off the minute I see his face. (Especailly in the Boots chemist adverts).

Different strokes for different folks I guess, smudge. Personally I like him (although I will agree about the Boots adverts).

Mind you, I could be biased. He's from Woking, and so am I. Erm, you're not from Aldershot, are you? I tend to find people from there dislike him. I put it down to footballing local rivalry spilling over into the world of light entertainment. :O)

Nah littleoldme - I'm from Bedfordshire! I nearly boycotted Boots around Christmas time! My husband can't stand him either, so we both reach for the remote simultaneously - well only when we're not reading of course!
I agree with smudge, he's got to be the most irritating man on TV.
I'm not from Aldershot either, but he doesn't raise a smile from me. With Smudge all the way on this one.
you're not alone Smudge - no-one in our family can stand him and we are talking a variety of ages here (so it's not an age thing) we don't find him remotely funny, entertaining or amusing. The Boots ads were particularly annoying as well

i find him highly amusing, but he's definitely a bit of an acquired taste!

i think he's a lot funnier when he's doing his own thing - i much prefer his stand-up to things like tv burp, but i'll agree with you on the adverts!

i'm seeing him on stage in a few weeks, so i'll let you know if he's any good.

I like him and I like TV Burp!
A couple of weeks ago I posed a question asking why people liked Big Brother.  It was banned!  Since then all sorts of similar questions have been asked and remain.  I am getting paranoid!!!!  Why is the editing so random?

FP - I didn't give it a second thought - but I'm sure AB Ed will no doubt ban this & any others now. :0)

If he does ban it, at least I know I'm not alone in not finding HH funny or remotely entertaining. But then again it would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.

Thank you for participating in my chatty thread!
You're very welcome.
I didn't mean for this to get banned as well!  I really am in the doghouse now.   Anyway, Harry Hill is far from being the most irritating man on TV.  That's Cliff Richard.............
...and thanks to FP and secretsquiz for making me feel I'm not completely out of touch on this!

As I say - everyone to their own!

But I would rather watch 24 hours of CF than 1 hour of HH & that's something! Nite, nite all.

Question Author
*I meant - 'and that's saying something'.
I like him - always have done.  That said, I think he is losing his touch a bit, and he does do far too many adverts.  I still quote his old catchphrases now and again - "goal!" and "you've got to have a system" - most people don't recognise them anymore.  Last year on TV Burp he did a Prof Robert Winston skit and now my bf and I can't see him on TV without referring to the line used - "but really, I should be at work".

I really like him too, tho sometimes he can be a bit hit or miss.  His catchphrases, although random in the extreme, do still raise a smile with me...."Stalagmites and stalactites" or "The power of suggestion" being two favourites.

Have tried, but have never found him funny. Each to their own I suppose.
Harry Hill is a very funny and unique comedian, personally i would like TV Burp to be on every week.
I dont mind him - dont like his stand up but find "Harry Hill's TV Burp" hilarious!
