According to a survey, the average man in the spends twenty years working, twenty years sleeping, five years shaving and dressing, five years eating, one year telephoning, three years just waiting and sixteen years playing or relaxing.

Do you have time to do the things that matter most to you? Many persons do not, this despite the increasing use of timesaving devices. “With all the timesaving devices people have,” it has been said, “they have more trouble than anybody else finding time for anything.” Regardless of what country one lives in, this matter of finding time is an important one.

It is especially vital for true Christians, who are told: “Keep strict watch that how you walk is not as unwise but as wise persons, buying out the opportune time for yourselves.”—Eph. 5:15, 16.

"The quote is from 20th century english not 17th century" from where precisely and have spent more time having sex than shaving, though my wife might disagree.

I'm not at all incline to scoff at the evidence of Time elderman

Really, it is as though we needed to lean over backward, as the saying goes, to reject anything and everything that savors of self-exaltation or pride. How many have made fools of themselves because of pride! Worse yet, how many have perished because of their pride! Well did an English essayist once observe: “In general, pride is at the bottom of all great mistakes.”
What sayings that then?

You strike me as a very "prideful" person. Sure of your path to heaven and distainful of anyone else. Remember pride comes before a fall.
How many have made fools of themselves because of pride!

Well all the Jehova's Witnesses that made predictions of the end of the world for a start!

Look Elderman I know what a nasty little controlling cult JWs are.

Why don't you tell the nice Ladies and Gentlemen what happens if your son or daughter doesn't want to be a JW any more?

Wise words indeed. Perhaps you should take note.

Are you here in search of converts, Elderman?

Yes,pride is the fact that it can make us enemies
As pride is a common fault among men, we do well to control it and thereby avoid its damaging effects.
And what it does to those not of the belief to watch someone die who could have been saved....

The average woman spends the five years not shaving and dressing looking for her husbands socks, and keys, and trying to see if she needs to iron anything for the kidds 16 months playing and relaxing would be an over estimate...
Elderman. But you don't control your pride. You haven't a clue how the rest of us here live, but nevertheless you tell us we should live your way. I would have no objection if you were able offer some evidence that you are right and we are wrong - but you can't. Taking it upon yourself to preach religion to other people is nothing but pure arrogance.
and copying and pasting rather than providing personal insight is Sloth

Any more deadly sins folk... no evidence for lust so far but he hasn't met Sara or fluff yet
A man with a watch knows what time it is.
A man with two watches is never sure.

Just as real is the existence of a truly united people today, but not here!
What on earth are you talking about, Elderman?
This looks like copied tracts to me.
There are sophists here who think it funny to mock the believers. They'll be laughing on the other side of their faces when they're revolving on a spit for eternity in the place of eternal Hellfire.
And if a JW leaves their religion what's wrong with other family members ostracising them?
I'm not mocking any believer, sandyroe - each to their own - but these posts don't read like normal conversational words to me.
Elderman here are some sins that the good lord(or moses) left off his list as they didn't make a nice round 10.
Being arrogant, being conceited, pursuing ignorance, suppressing knowledge, putting dogma above the wellbeing of your fellow man, indulging in deliberate self delusion, spreading lies and thinking your god needs your approval.
And your point is?
Am female .What revelations do you have for me? Or am I irrelevant?

Speaking flattering and peaceful words here.
A proverb says: “A friend is loving at all times and becomes a brother in times of trouble.” (Proverbs 17:17)yes Friendship enriches one’s life and spices it with greater happiness. So be friendly if want to friend. Even to this day they fail to speak truth one with the other, and cannot attain world peace and unity.
But some say, I know atheists who are more 'Christian' than most Christians.
Is he having a mid-manifestation crisis?!?!

I know I have a friend who left your lot after they were all expecting the end of the world and nothing happened - then everyone ran about saying "Oh no we didn't really say that"

But to them, this is the “practiced” way to life, a way typified by such expressions as: “The end justifies the means”; “It’s a ‘dog-eat-dog’ world where it’s ‘every man for himself’ ”; “All’s fair in love and war.” They lack the wisdom from above, spiritual insight. (Jas. 3:13-18) As true Christians we do not slip into following worldly ways. can get my point!
