Do You Have Time?
67 Answers
According to a survey, the average man in the spends twenty years working, twenty years sleeping, five years shaving and dressing, five years eating, one year telephoning, three years just waiting and sixteen years playing or relaxing.
Do you have time to do the things that matter most to you? Many persons do not, this despite the increasing use of timesaving devices. “With all the timesaving devices people have,” it has been said, “they have more trouble than anybody else finding time for anything.” Regardless of what country one lives in, this matter of finding time is an important one.
It is especially vital for true Christians, who are told: “Keep strict watch that how you walk is not as unwise but as wise persons, buying out the opportune time for yourselves.”—Eph. 5:15, 16.

I find that somewhat hard to believe
But putting aside the dodgy surveys your quote is as pointless and meaningless as most of the Bible.
I mean couched in the English of 400 years ago it sounds deep and profound but what does it really say?
"Use your time wisely"?
No wonder Christians love old language that makes them sound important
Tell you what, why don't you quote from the Good News translation in future and let people judge the content of what you say rather than hiding behind seventeenth Century English?

Assuming for a belief suspending moment that those figures are correct then they still only add up to 70 years of the current 80 year expectancy...
So what about the other 10 years? I would have thought that driving would make up a fair proportion which is funny really because if the bloke who wrote the biblical passage had a car then maybe he wouldn't have used up all his spare time walking about, what a loser.

You're a Jehova!

When's the next End of the world comming Elderman?
1975 didn't pan out did it?
- I know I have a friend who left your lot after they were all expecting the end of the world and nothing happened - then everyone ran about saying "Oh no we didn't really say that"

I suspect you're right, Jake. This from a self-confessed 'worshipper of Jehovah'.

If you do feel inclined to scoff at the evidence of time do.
Today people forming the world alienated from God live according to certain philosophies of life and customs that are out of harmony with God’s Word. But to them, this is the “practiced” way to life, a way typified by such expressions as: “The end justifies the means”; “It’s a ‘dog-eat-dog’ world where it’s ‘every man for himself’ ”; “All’s fair in love and war.” They lack the wisdom from above, spiritual insight. (Jas. 3:13-18) As true Christians we do not slip into following worldly ways.

Really? So what are you doing sitting at your computer contributing to a question and answer forum - and revelling in your own personal pride (it's a sin, isn't it?) in the process?
I've told you before, Elderman, I know atheists who are more 'Christian' than most Christians.
