Do you think that life has a purpose? “What we have learned about the evolutionary process has enormous implications for us, affecting our sense of meaning in life.” One said His conclusion? I can see no cosmic or ultimate meaning in human life.

You never know your luck. He's given up on two of us today already. :o)
Personally think everyone is entitled to their opinions, but these threads get a bit tedious. There will never be agreement, just an endless circle of argument and counter argument. Does that make sense? Brain a bit mush today.
As has been said before, the people who post here do it by choice. You don't have to read the threads, Maggie.

We are born, we die.

From nothing to nothing.

Just enjoy your life while you have it, be good and help others who aren't as fortunate as yourself.
Hi Lonnie, nice to see you. Happy Christmas. :o)

Lonnie...... True but if you know something that would benefit others, would it be kind to share or would it be best to keep it to yourself?
Another brainwashing thread Elderman, I'll give you points for determination
Only if you believe you can fly.
I'll share anything, elderman, but I won't preach or proselytise.
The fact that you do believe is more important than what you believe. Faith gives a structure to life. Even the poor, benighted, atheists live better lives because of their belief in nothing.
Would you mind restating the question, I don't understand what it is you are asking.
That, Khandro, is part of the Elderman modus operandi. We're not suppose to understand properly but to open our minds to a brainwashing!
This thread reminds me of an Oscar Wilde quote (bet you like his morals Elderman)

The old believe everything, the middle-aged suspect everything, the young know everything.

I therefore decline to comment at the moment.

The question “Do you believe in evolution or in atheism?” is more than a matter of idle curiosity. The answer that one gives will be deeply reflected in his attitude toward his fellowman, his moral values and his outlook on the future.
I saw the Tottenham rioting in and I saw the rioting last night and it was certainly different in character.
What might have been started in Tottenham by youngsters aggrieved about what they saw as police persecution has become something very different in nature.
Yes a atheist, evolution has contributed to this moral breakdown in other ways: It has discouraged faith in God and the Bible. In turn, many persons have abandoned the Biblical moral code forbidding adultery and stealing. But is that not to be expected? For, according to evolutionary teaching, is not man really an animal.
Very good DT. He also said 'Men grow old, but they never grow good'.
You are slowly getting to understand evolution Eldrman. Now that you have grasped the fact that man is an animal perhaps you can go on to understand that man is related to other animals ..I won't take it any further today as I don't think you are quite ready for the next intellectual step. I will however monitor your posts and assess your readiness for new concepts and will try to help you when your brain appears to have made enough development to warrant further effort.
