Does Anyone On Here Admit To 'keeping Up With The Jones'?
53 Answers
Why do people do it, especially if they can't really afford to financially?
Why do they get so jealous of other people's possessions and lifestyles that they will go into debt to try to keep up?
If they are financially secure, healthy and lead a comfortable life with no worries, why isn't that enough?
Is it because they feel so insecure about themselves that they feel inadequate just because they have less material possessions?
What are people's thoughts?

I envy those living in high rises, with balconys to raise your feet while tapping out missives to www allday. I envy not having to maintain property & land. I want neighbors to chat over the fence with or pop in to check if I'm breathing, specially my peers. Who'll swap ?
I have never been in a position where I could afford to 'keep up withg the Jones'. That was until recently when I lost both parents within 24 hours of each other. I had been liveing in a 'flintstones' type house, where just about everything was the same as it was built. An extensive renovation project was needed, this is where my mum and dad come into my equation, as they left me £50,000! You don't need three guesses to realise how I spent that money, but now I have a luxury bespoke kitchen, shower room, and lounge. Was I trying to keep up with the J's? Absolutely no! However, I feel a whole load better about inviting people in these days. I have an alternative view on things in general; so why would I want to kuwj's when all I want is not to be like any one else. My kitchen's fabulous, why don't you call round for coffee n have a look, lol.
