They have nothing on the men of the Ayke Mukos tribe in Ethiopia, ''Ch4 last night'' Fasinating documentry.

The men still buy their brides with goats from another, and have to keep supplying them for life, and they can have 3/4 brides, who tend the cattle, cook, clean etc.

Mind you I detest the way Muslims treat their wives, and have first hand knowledge when I worked in the Middle East.

tony - for a pack of fags here - with excise duty and VAT they would cost a fortune here, plus you'd have to look behind the closed door where they are stored now......no advertising of slaves, you know.....

Yes, I am a Muslim and I have a slave at my home. Since we got married about 21 years ago I have taken care of her every need including clothing, makeup, food, shoes, holidays, money in the pocket (handbag), I call her queen of my home, I let her know wherever and wherever I need to go anywhere, I tell my kids that the success in this life and in the hereafter depends upon respecting and listening to that slave, she tells her friends that she would have never been happier had she married someone else, but I do question that as I believe there are better people in the world than I am. So yes she is my slave and she is happy about that and so am I.

Do you have any problem with that?

While I can't know what happens at home, I know that the owners of our local corner shop have a defined management structure and the male member of the team is subordinate.
