At the moment he's still looking good for the Republican nomination, but I'm not sure many non-Republicans (not just Democrats but the swing voters) would vote for him.

To be fair to people who can't name the other Democrat candidates, there are only two of them and one is so far behind the other two in standing that not knowing him is unlikely to matter much (sorry, Martin O'Malley). The other, Bernie Sanders, is doing a great job of at the very least putting the frighteners on Clinton, with a good chance of picking up the first two starts to vote. There is a real chance we could be looking at a Trump v. Sanders election, rather than, say, Bush v. Clinton as many might have expected this time last year.
Say what you will about Trump, but the nearly 40% poll numbers he's enjoying right now have withstood several assaults and have only grown. Recent polls have shown that most Americans, Democrats, Republicans and Independents all are willing to at least consider him as opposed to anyone from the "ruling class" that has been in office for the last 20 years or so and have now burden the nation with $20 Trillion in debt.
In my opinion, only die-hard Democrats that would never vote for anyone other than a Democrat will continue to support Clinton. The latest polls find a surprising strength allocated to Trump among the Independents without whom, no candidate can win. This has prompted recent statements from standing Vice-President Biden that he might join the race. He carries a great deal of the "sympathy" vote due to his son's death last year from cancer.
It remains to be seen if Clinton will even make it to the Democrat convention (August) if the investigation into her keeping Top Secret e-mails on her private serve when she was Secretary of State. The FBI is deeply involved in he investigation of offenses that the previous war hero, General David Petraeus was removed as Director of the CIA, that being not keeping secret e-mails secure. Almost daily, new revelations are forthcoming concerning her behavior in this matter. So much so that the last poll over the weekend stated 60% of all Americans find her untrustworthy.
