Butchering, not slaughtering, Naomi. If we’re sticking rigidly to your OP, then you weren’t concerned whether it was at the house pictured, only that it had been slaughtered for sacrifice, somewhere. Again, there is zero evidence for this.

Its not unusual around where I live to order a whole sheep from the butchers albeit ready chopped for the freezer but I'm sure they would provide one whole if asked. They also could have purchased direct from a Halal butchers. I'm not condoning Halal by the way it should be banned but that's a different thread.
They are cutting up meat for a BBQ as its their Religious Festival. Big Deal.....I'm sure there are loads of people being just as unhygienic every weekend in Summer with their sausages and burgers. Thank God there is no one in the leafy suburbs taking pics of Jez and Suzie leaving their sacrificial Wagu burgers out in the sunlight, or, heaven forbid, cutting their corn fed chicken into portions before cooking. What a load of tripe .

In the 1980s I taught at a school in a part of Halifax which was becoming a Muslim area. One day there was a huge commotion outside the gates - a man was chasing a goat down the road and brandishing a knife and the outraged white residents were yelling at him and stopping him. He had been about to sacrifice it in the street and was completely baffled and angered by the reaction. I didn't see the end of it, I'm afraid (bell rang!) but I was told later that the police arrived and that the goat was safe.

Just a little anecdote to say that this sort of thing does go on. That area is now completely Muslim so goodness only knows what happens there.

Halal :Not in the OP but I presume the animal has been dispatched by those methods, I'm totally against this method of slaughter but this was not mentioned in the OP
Sacrifice -you have absolutely no evidence whatsoever, other than this report that the animal was being prepared for a feast of Eid, how this animal was killed. Frankly this photo could have been taken at any time and offered up to the Sun for a nice wadge of cash. The fact its in The Sun speaks volumes. I would not even look at that Rag let alone quote from it!

Putting aside the fact that you can’t slaughter something for sacrificial purposes (I know what you mean but it’s either sacrificed or it’s slaughtered, not both) there is nothing in the article which confirms this.

The question isn’t about how these animals were killed but why. Is animal sacrifice acceptable in this country in the 21st century? That is the question. It’s not that difficult to understand.
