And they have the gall to suggest Islam is taking over - I haven't seen many quotes from Muslim sites here.

This thread is about Islam. No one has deviated from that or truncated discussion. Unless your post is an attempt at a diversionary tactic, which I strongly suspect it is, perhaps you’d consider explaining why, instead of debunking, in a rational manner, the message you’re attacking, you resort to attacking the messenger.

I used one today which was not made by Breitbart but simply recorded there, it was a verbatim account of statements made by a Polish politician, and incidentally, most people on that threat agreed entirely with his sentiment.

Canary42 is talking about the nature of threads on AB as he sees them; threads with a high-fascism quota. Threads and quotes heavily peppered with offerings from self-professed right-wing websites/publications.....and in at least one case, extreme far-right.
I don't think appraising IJKLM of that fact could seriously be called a 'diversionary tactic'.

I've been on this site long enough to know the various characters that you are dealing with (though not necessariy under this username).

I resolved not to get involved in political discussions on this site, as I believe them to be excessively polarised and ultimately a waste of time and effort.

On this one, however, I think those of us who want to resist the rising tide of far-right fascism have a duty to stand up say so.

I don't want to make a habit of it; and I don't want to repeat myself.

I do want the moderators and management to be aware of the range of views about far-right extremism and how this site is starting to contribute to that trend.

Jackthehat, Canary’s premise regarding posters here is grossly inaccurate. There is no rising tide of fascism taking over this website. That said, if information from whatever source, be it from what Canary dramatically calls Hitler’s favourite paper or elsewhere, is accurate there is no reason to deem it unacceptable. Nevertheless, clearly in agreement with Canary’s inaccurate premise, you jump enthusiastically on the controversial bandwagon in similar condemnation. Heaven forbid that anyone should mention the real rushing tide of fascism – and more fool those who determinedly refuse to recognise it.

I don't care what anyone thinks, they are as entitled to think whatever they like, however there is a clear leaning to the far right which is no longer balanced by those of us on the left in number and thus the site appears to be very right wing in it's general demeanour if you have a quick look in News or Religion and Spirituality, and like it or not that does not represent the views of everyone who might consider signing up as a member and will put a great many people off. the right wing bubble here is exactly that, a fluke of sorts, and we are losing members over it.

Pointing out that Breitbart and Stormfront are at the forefront of rightist/fascist disinformation does not mean that I have jumped anywhere enthusiastically, or otherwise.

Fascism is a word bandied about by people who have no understanding of what it represents (I've lived through it). The only official definition of Fascism comes from Benito Mussolini, the founder of fascism, in which he outlines three principles of a fascist philosophy.
'1."Everything in the state". The Government is supreme and the country is all-encompasing, and all within it must conform to the ruling body, often a dictator.
2."Nothing outside the state". The country must grow and the implied goal of any fascist nation is to rule the world, and have every human submit to the government.
3."Nothing against the state". Any type of questioning the government is not to be tolerated. If you do not see things our way, you are wrong. If you do not agree with the government, you cannot be allowed to live and taint the minds of the rest of the good citizens.'
