I think all that's happening is that the concept that families come in all varieties and permutations of parents and children is being introduced to kids at an early age.
I don't think that sex education as such is involved, or that being gay is being 'promoted' in any way.
I don't see any problem with that, but there are people who don't believe that families should come in all varieties and permutations of parents, and that anything other than the standard 1 male 1 female heterosexual married relationship producing an obligatory bunch of offspring is some kind of crime that offends their god.
Those are the ones kicking up a fuss about it.

"Do you claim the same thing about being attracted to kids ? "
That deserves its own thread entirely. Because i've always said, to suppress a paedophile is to put one into hiding. It's better if we know people have sexual urges, to we can prevent them from ever happening. At the end of the day, i'm sure a paedophile doesn't actually want to be attracted to kids. It's a mental issue.

They’re not the only people kicking up a fuss about it. I acknowledge that families are made up of all sorts of mixtures of people but I don’t agree with young children having this politically correct claptrap foisted upon them by people with an agenda. Age 11 at senior school is soon enough.

Ten of the Tory MPs who voted against the proposal are long-time opponents of LGBT+ rights reforms: Sir Christopher Chope (Christchurch), Philip Davies (Shipley), Bob Blackman (Harrow East), Matthew Offord (Hendon), Sir Edward Leigh (Gainsborough), Charlie Elphicke (Dover), James Gray (North Wiltshire), Philip Hollobone (Kettering), Julian Lewis (New Forest East) and Martin Vickers (Cleethorpes).
I'm surprised that many tories voted against
