How can you destroy a planet?
It will go on regardless.
We can nuclear bomb it to smithereens but it will still be a rock orbiting the sun, in a solar system, in a galaxy, in a universe, etc.

Eventually when the sun starts to run out of fuel and begins to expand, it is expected that it will swallow up Mercury, Venus and the Earth, possibly Mars.
