i believe it is part of an agenda 100%

for those who dismiss this theory then state why, provide facts & links.

Woof, I don't know. It's just something I am worried about, but would have to wait and see. I am not an expert on immune systems... I just know what I know so far... but I can't prove anything... yet.
what do you know?
Lol... that could take some time. I'm prepared to admit i might be wrong... I'll just wait and see.
I don't mean that how it sounds. Some things I know, and some I just suspect. I'm always willing to change my mind, if something different emerges
but you haven't said what you do know
No... because it is complicated and I know I can't word it properly....
Anything that stimulates your immune system to react, is usually healthy in the longrun. Except allergies, which is an overreaction from the immune system. But, sometimes, can be taught (i have had that myself). You can't immunise yourself to colds, as there are too many different strains. But you can to other viruses, say chicken pox, measles, etc. The less you are exposed to, the less you are naturally immune to. There are obviously some that you can't be... but for one example...
I haven't had a cold in many years... until I worked with a new person who had one. Genuinely, I believe that you are more likely to get an illness from "new people" than those you are familiar with.
I don't mind if you think it sounds mad... I just think science hasn't caught up yet.
Ignore this for about 2 years though.
I bet you know the difference between testing for Covid19 and testing for Coronavirus, pixie. ;-)
‘ I believe that you are more likely to get an illness from "new people" than those you are familiar with’

Which is an argument FOR lockdown.
I'm sure you do... logic was never your strong point :-)
// I bet you know the difference between testing for Covid19 and testing for Coronavirus, //
erm I dont
dis-moi
what is it?
Maybe, zacs... I certainly think lockdown would keep many physically safer in some ways. I just don't think it is our only concern.
People are dying from a lack of treatment, who don't have covid themselves. Mental health? Young children? Smaller businesses?
I appreciate all of that, pix. But it’s a bit daft to argue that lockdown is a bad thing, and then cite a very good reason (meeting strangers) for it’s implementation. Well, not if you want to be taken seriously.
No... I agree. But, callously, perhaps, I don't believe we can save everybody. We have others dying unnecessarily, because covid comes first. We have many people, especially elderly, suffering because they can't see relatives. I understand the government is scared.
But we are going with quantity over quality, for everyone, whether they like it or not.
To prevent the overrunning of the NHS. Do you not think that’s a sensible approach?
BTW.... I have never argued lockdown is wrong. In fact, I suggested it while it was only in China and possibly hadn't reached here. I was told that was too expensive, a kneejerk reaction etc. So we allowed it in.
Now that it is here... we need to find a balance between saving people, while not destroying others.
If you’re not arguing that lockdown is a bad thing, why did you write ‘ the rest of the population really needs to be allowed to carry on. ’?
Pixie that is not new and is a different discussion. All of us carry our own "zoo" of bacteria and fungusses around on and in us and we share many of the same strains with the folk who we live close to. There is even a word for it, its called the microbiome. They are the ones we have reached an "armed truce" with.....they don't make us ill and our bodies don't kill them off....or the ones that are beneficial in some way. When we go among strangers, we swap zoo inmates. Some settle down without argument, some give us a problem, sometimes we exterminate the troublemaker, sometimes it learns its lesson and settles down in the zoo. That's why hospitals are risky places for ill people....all those zoo inmates being swapped at once at a time when people's bodies have enough else going on in the way of treatment and healing.

That is NOT the same as saying that a normal immune system needs to be challenged by meeting strangers to maintain its strength and is totally and utterly not the same as saying that an impaired immune system can be strengthened by doing the same thing.
We don't have a lockdown, zacs. We never did. We always allowed Keyworkers to continue (for the most vulnerable). Plus essential shopping, bubbles, rule of six.... and so on.
I meant an actual lockdown, where nobody was allowed to arrive here. It's an island.... perfectly possible.
At the moment, we seem to have the worst of both worlds. Most of the population is exempt, one way or another, and pretty much everyone who is vulnerable.
We are allowing schools, colleges, universities, keyworkers and vulnerable people to continue as usual....
Who are being protected here?
We know, woof. Except that being in contact with different bugs, does give some immunity.
What I got from listening to this Psychologist is the depression and sometimes suicide that is caused from people who are unable to see other members of their close family. We can only be in one bubble, and so if we cannot see close family members that we usually see, this is when depression can creep in.I understand why we shouldn't mix with strangers, but I can't understand why I have to choose which of my daughters I need to be in a bubble with. Also, she is saying if you are fit and well, you should be able to work, and I agree with that.
