Why do adults force kids to grow up too quickly by stripping them of "childish" stuff like toys and kids shows when they deem the kids to be too old for them?

It happened to me.
Some do, but not all
Yeah I know it's a bummer - my mum took my teddy away when I was only 32!
Many 'children' aren't allowed to grow up until they are in their 20s, they are mollycoddled by their parents.
Homo-sexual teachers telling them whether they want to be a boy or a girl is up to them, & explaining the joys of being trans, doesn't really help.
Are you referring to teachers who are homosexuals or teachers of homosexuality, as in 'English teachers', Khandro?
Does it make a difference if the teacher giving that message is straight?

Straight teachers don't tell children such things.
Some Abers on here still Haven't Grown up , me old china .Damn Savages.
been around for a long time

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.12 For now we see through a glass, darkly;

it is a helluva world out there
Some do, some don't. I played with dolls until I was about 10 or 11, if a child did that now they would be ridiculed by their peers.
I read that Scottish schools are going to allow children from the age of four to decide their gender and change their names - all without parental consent. If that’s true it’s utter madness. Sorry, i can’t post a link.
Peter (with apologies to the O.Poster) In the thread we seem to have managed to get closed down about driving, I was about to tell the story of Pooh Bear & Piglet:
Contemplating a walk in the forest, Pooh says, "But Suppose a branch falls off a tree & lands on our heads?" to which Piglet replies, "Suppose it doesn't."
Thanks chaps.
// Some Abers on here still Haven't Grown up , me old china .Damn Savages.// foo and wont grow up - ever !

hi Gully - congrats on a comment that has lasted more than 3 mins
slow day on AB evidently
This post seems to have deviated from the original question. What's homosexuality and trans got to do with playing with toys? Ok, don't answer that
// Contemplating a walk in the forest, Pooh says, "But Suppose a branch falls off a tree & lands on our heads?" to which Piglet replies, "I dont read the bible."//

and apolz for referring to a childhood/adult progression - -
someone one says
Oh that is why you cant tell Peter from Paul
I wonder how many children now are taught nursery rhymes and childrens songs. I know children who couldn't sing a nursery rhyme but know all the words to pop songs
