Am I Over Reacting?

Have just received a letter from the government telling me that although I come under the clinically extremely vulnerable group, there is no need for the restrictions that were first put into place, but I must still take certain precautions to stay safe.
Yesterday I read that Trafford has the highest rate of Covid at the moment and this is where a friend of mine lives and who I go to see every week.
I don't wear a mask anymore, but I do wear one of those visor masks when I go in shops etc and I wondered if I should wear it when I go to see my friend or do you think I would be over reacting?
My friend lives with her 2 grown up sons and one of her sons is always in the house too.
None of them ever wear masks, but they have all had both their jabs.

Barsel, I can't see the difference between you visiting them or them visiting you. Mixing with people is the issue. I certainly wouldn't worry about them taking the micky. Just laugh back and say 'As much as I like you I'm not prepared to die for you!' Take care of yourself, Barsel. You're vulnerable. Never mind what they say.

Pasta, it's never made sense to me that you wear a mask to protect others.
If they have it and are coughing and sneezing, it makes more sense for me to wear a mask to protect myself from their germs.
I'm sure I'll be ok.
LB, same as me @ 10.33.
Time to go now, thanks again for all your answers.

Thanks Naomi. x
Barsel i got the same letter a few days ago. Its a generic letter for people who are on the 'highly Vulnerable' list and not specifically aimed at you personally. They are only suggestions, and advise you to contact a health professional if you are concerned.

"You should consider advice from your health professional on whether additional precautions are right for you. However, as someone with a health condition, you may want to consider, alongside any advice from your clinician, if additional precautions are right for you. These could include:

considering whether you and those you are meeting have been vaccinated – you might want to wait until 14 days after everyone’s second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine before being in close contact with others

considering continuing to practice social distancing if that feels right for you and your friends

asking friends and family to take a rapid lateral flow antigen test before visiting you

asking home visitors to wear face coverings

avoiding crowded spaces "
