I don't need to do that. I'm a Christian. Was raised a Christian - had my spell with agnosticism and atheism - and then realised my truth and that Jesus was in my life. I do not feel the need to proclaim it all over the place and I think that you are on a hiding to nothing by posting like this. It doesn't do most of us any good at all.
Sorry, Atheist, I sounded like 'Meghan'. No I don't mean that truth is subjective. It got mixed up with trying not to offend anyone. I believe that the basic tenets of Christianity are true - I don't want to force this belief on anyone, however. Does that make it clear?
I also think that Christianity as spelled out by Jesus has a lot of good stuff (although still coloured by his Jewish faith). I am sad that his original message was taken over and modified and translated (corrupted?) by those who came after (especially Paul, who was a typical "I'm the boss, and I know what the truth is!" type.)
I think a lot of Jesus's message, and that of other chaps I like (not many women are numbered amongst the religious inventors) had good stuff, but then I would wouldn't I? I choose what goes with my innate 'knowledge'.
I don't think you have to be 'holy' to be decent.
I was brought up by and surrounded by Christians. They taught me so much. Their teachings and behaviour began my interest in witchcraft. That led me to becoming a Wiccan. So much more benevolent and I'm so much happier.... :-)
Welcome Apostle, you will find quite quickly that religious debate and an exchange of views are very welcome, however, endless preaching, patronizing, and lofty attitudes are absolutely not.
Not for me thanks what makes more sense following a nature based, peaceful kind belief system that offers harm to none, or One that says those people should be killed. Or they will burn in hell.
