Apostle. I'm not a Christian of any variety. Are you interested in talking to an atheist?

I was raised sort of Christian, my dad dying when I was 2½ was explained by my mother telling me he had gone to live with Jesus. So Jesus was the ( insert appropriate expletive) who took my Daddy! Didn't think that was true so if they couldtell me rubbish like that I worked out very young the whole thing was probably a lie. Nothing has ever made me think otherwise.
For those 'christians' (the term 'christian' can mean many different things to different people) that havnt actually read the Gospels or the New Testament, The Jesus that it represents is a cult leader by modern standards.
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple'' (Luke 14:16)
Is there anyone who agrees with this?
''He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one''
(Matthew 10:34)
Why would the prince of peace tell his followers to buy a sword?
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. (Matthew 10:34)
Bit different from what is taught in church!
