I wonder if he has read Matthew 19.24 which reads:-
‘It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.’

Good for him, I wish him well.
i wouldn't call that rich, not in that part of the country. I too hope he has a good life, retirement....
Why are they showing pictures of his house? That’s terrible
Lifted from the estate agent's website I imagine, Jo. Sadly, people in the public eye aren't entitled to any sort of privacy
Sounds like a touch of the green-eyed monster to me!!!! He seems like a lovely bloke and, obviously, his money doesn't come from being a vicar. Hope we still see him on the TV occasionally
I've a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of him, Kustard. I like him on Countdown and the panel shows such as HIGNFY.

I don't think he's been taking food from the mouths of poor parishioners
No, me neither, Barry!!!! I think he'll make lots of friends in his new location.
In a recent interview, the Rev Coles said this house was only affordable because of a pension agreement he'd signed over 30 years ago.
So how much would be acceptable to you Hymie that he spends on a house and can still go to heaven? Or should he just live in car maybe?
By the way isn't he gay? According to the Bible that will also hamper him at those gates.
you don't half post some twaddle Hymie.

I am considerably less wealthy than Richard Coles, nevertheless I would expect St. Peter to be asking me some pretty searching questions at the pearly gates, re my wealth versus the rest of the human population.

But it is something I don’t have to worry about since no such place exists.
Do you have to live in sackcloth to get in?
Wonder if Richard earns a few bob from his (almost) regular Friday morning slot on Radio 2's 'Pause For Thought'?
I sincerely hope he finds everlasting solace in his new home.
Of course he earns money for working, Ken. He also tithes, so the more he earns the more he gives to charity.
Based on your logic here Hymie, the Pope hasn't much of a chance!
Are you telling us the pope is gay?
He must also have plenty of royalties from his recordings with the Communards where he played keyboards and other instruments alongside Jimmy Summerville.
Silly post.
Richard Cole is a hardworking man with incomes from many sources including his book deals (he has published five), music, tv and radio appearances, newspaper columns. He said, "...I sometimes earn more in a week doing corporate work than in a year as a vicar. I've done quite a lot of work on diversity with City law firms."

So good for him. Hard working man can afford to buy nice cottage in a nice area.
