Why Can’t Young Women Handle Rejection?

Ok so I was out with some friends the other day and a young woman I’d say probably in her mid to late twenties approached one of my friends. She asked him for his number and he wasn’t into her so he simply said “you seem like a nice woman but I’m not looking for a relationship right now”. She seemed to get really annoyed and started making sarcastic comments like “well you’re the one who’s missing out”. Even though it was clear she was distraught about it. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen similar situations with young women when they get rejected and get angry about it.

It's embarrassment fueled by alcohol, mixed with human nature.

Not sure what kind of answer you are looking for, or expect, but that's about the size if it.
been a problem for men forever!
One of the differences between men and women, the latter are more emotionally fragile than men..........I have mentioned this many times on AB.
Yet 75% of suicides in the UK are men suggesting that women are more emotionally resilient
barry...men? women? gender ? gender statistics mean very little to me today.

Women more likely to suffer from depression than men.

I don't think that we should necessarily evaluate suicide as an index of resilience.
Based on a few observations by one guy, we plunge into a sweeping statement about young women. PMsL.
I think asking a complete stranger for his number is a weird thing to do. I would never make the first move.
Thank you Canary, if your post was aimed at me........then what an unhelpful post.

Not a website in sight and comments based on personal experience...........to be thrown in the wastbin.
To be honest, some men are the same.
I’ve never known anyone to walk up to a complete stranger and ask for their number. Who would give it? Not me!

But lots of shy blokes wish the ladies would!
237: Yes, some men are the same about feeling resentment at being rejected when they politely ask a strange woman for her phone number. I suspect, though, that there are more rejected men joining Incel groups than there are women. Perhaps someone knows if there are any stats on the number of aggressive and threatening retaliations against the other sex coming from men versus coming from women?
Naomi; Even if it was Boris?
Atheist, what on earth are you talking about?

You should know, hifos. You’ve been around here long enough - even though you don’t have the guts to use your previous name.
