Does anyone here know when there might be a flight to Rwanda? (carrying illegals, of course, not tourists). And anyone know what has happened to the £150 million they've already had? Or the £20 million they got to set up lawyers, accommodation etc? Or is it sitting safely in Paul Kagame's bank account so that he can keep an eye on it until.....?
I think that UK is waiting for a legal decision on whether or not it has tried to break the law. I wish the govts legal eagles had cleared this before they let the politicos chew through their lead.
bobb'... Looks like the UK snarled a bit and didn't have teeth to back it up. Not properly sorted out before they let whoever it was off the leash. They are really showing themselves to the world as a bit incompetent and not to be taken seriously. IMOH.
bobb. I can't offer a better alternative. But I'm not in government; it's not my job. If we want to comply with international law, then we should organise our system better, so that we don't hold people in rather squalid camps far longer and more crowded than they should be. If we don't care, then carry on as is.
Yes it's easy to find fault and have no better suggestions apart from 'its your job you sort it'
Hopefully keir will be PM in 18 months but I think the situation will get worse not better over next 5 years as any ideas are shot down as cruel while ignoring the impact on ordinary uk folk
