There has been talk in the press lately about him having lied on his visa form to gain entry to the USA, could he be stopped from re entering after the coronation?

Not me, matey. I’m a trusty British Spitfire. ;o)
Barsel - // For those of you who think that date was chosen purposely, do you really believe that King Charles would have said right at the start 'Let's choose this date as it's the kids birthday so hopefully none of them will come?' I mean, how childish do you think the King is? //

I don't think the King is childish, but i do think he has observed pragmatism close up from his mother all his life, in matters pertaining to the monarchy.

Yes, the King wanted Harry there, but that was never any guarantee that Harry was going to come, and if the date provides an excuse for Harry not to come, without having to be thought of as simply any more petulant and self-centred than he clearly is, his father would be happy to save Harry's dignity.

The King said quite plainly that he wanted Harry there and I believe the King didn't even realise it was Archie's birthday until it was eventually pointed out to him. //

I seriously doubt that.

Royal diaries are mapped out over twelve months in advance, and even allowing for the fact that the coronation was not in this year's advance planning, the date would have been analysed from all angles before it was decided.

As a family with grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, their birthdays are all known, and any plans are made around them - i think any family does that.

And that goes to the nth degree for the royals, who have to plan everything to ensure there are no clashes, and birthdays are one of the major clashes to avoid - unless it actually helps out.

That is what i believe happened here.

The notion that Charles doesn't know his grandchildren's birthdays, as a grandad, not as a King, simply doesn't fly.
retrocop - // I have no problem with any of the mods ,that I know, of except you. //

Interesting.

Since you have no idea of any of my actions as a Mod, I am curious as to why that would be a problem for you.

Your antagonism towards me personally as an AB'er is a baffling tiresome fact of life I live with, but why as a Mod, I have no idea.
redhelen72 i dont know what she said do you or do you know what was said to her does anyone
I think for people with busy lives missing birthdays is an occupational hazard. We don’t plan around birthdays.
//We don’t plan around birthdays.//

Most people do plan around the birthdays of their young children.
Exactly Mozz!

And when the Royal Family is involved, clashes are highly unlikely I suggest.
I would suggest clashes are very likely. Think about the logistics of it all. Impossible to co-ordinate.
Given the sensitivity of relations with Harry, I find it inconceivable that this clash of dates was not noticed, and in my view, welcomed as a 'get out' if the couple chose not to come, remembering that Harry's confirmation came when plans were already underway, and the date was set.
Andy //As a family with grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, their birthdays are all known, and any plans are made around them - i think any family does that.//

I know lots of families who celebrate their birthdays and their children's birthdays on the nearest Saturday/Sunday including mine. This is due to work and school commitments.
Archie could have had his birthday party on either Saturday or Sunday and travelled here on the Monday, so to choose his birthday for the day of the Coronation wouldn't have been foolproof.
I can vouch birthdays and funerals will clash. Every year we updated and rehearsed funeral plans for the late Queen Mother and late Queen Elizabeth . Tay Bridge and London Bridge were going back in the 80s when my unit was responsible for routes and updates etc. Birthdays were an irrelevance then and I would suspect now purely because of the logistics
Retro - Funeral dates are based on deaths which are unpredictable.

Birthdays are the exact opposite.
//The notion that Charles doesn't know his grandchildren's birthdays, as a grandad, not as a King, simply doesn't fly.//

Rubbish, I have to look up my grandchildren's birthdays every year!
AH, are simply too busy to be able to ensure that work doesn’t clash with family birthdays. They just are. They don’t organise their own lives let alone their diaries!
That should have read ‘the royals are ….’
Zero- bur you're not the King, things are a bit different, and the idea that it would come out that the King forgot his grandson's birthday is seriously unlikely, I would suggest.
Sorry zebo, predictive text misspelled your name.
Road man, no I don’t know what she said but then neither do you.
But you assume it was nasty.
The king has people to remind him. He doesn’t need to remember.
A lot of it will depend on whether Charles was responsible for picking the date of the coronation. Given the huge amount of upheaval involved in shutting down half of the capital, creation of a bank holiday, flying world leaderd in etc, I fully expect that it was picked by a committee, rather than HRH himself. I wouldn't have thought Archie's birthday was very high on the agenda of that committee when deciding on the date.
