I have a sticker on my front door. It doesn't deter Suitcase Johnnies or Jehovas or any other waif, stray ,or Catalyctic converter thief. Suitable words of advice seem to do the trick ,though, as I assume none can read. :-)
Do you live in a no cold calling zone, retro?
Retro, where do you get those stickers from?
I believe my London Borough of Sutton delivered them through my letter box around 10-12 years ago. It is hardly legible now due to sun fading it
Yes Barry. I am in a No cold calling zone
I find answering the door naked deters them from coming back, retro
I have a no cold callers notice on my door given to me by a policeman a few years ago.
It states - you are requested to leave this property. Failure to do so could be a criminal offence. Uninvited callers will be reported to the police.

I've had JWs once since having this sign and they said they didn't think it applied to religious groups. I said it especially applies to religious groups and shut the door.
I've got a no cold call sticker on my window and have not had anyone at my door in years...except for the JWs that came a week or do ago. I saw a group of them converging in the street from my window...recognise them a mile away! They linger at the door for ages.

Lol If I want sympathy I can find it in the dictionary between sugar and syrup :-)
//except for the JWs that came a week or do ago//

Were they poaching on the Plymouth Brethren's territory pasta ?
My daughter, when she was going through her religious phase in her teens, was the best deterrent against the JWs, she would bore them to death.
Retro...are they in competition? ;)
I just realised I've not seen any Brethren in a long time...can only recognise the women due to their head scarves.
Thank you for the link Barry, I will print one of those.
Have been talking to a neighbour of mine about a no cold callers Zone as we are in a Close of 14 bungalows, all elderly, but she seems to think it's like a big telegraph pole with a sign on it.
We also have other signs like parking for residents only and at the moment there are 2 taxis that are parked there any time day or night so nobody takes notice of those signs!
If the drivers are in the taxis they are technically not parked but 'waiting'. Yellow lines means 'no waiting' and I assume the taxi drivers will move if asked.
Barry, no drivers in the taxis. The drivers probably live nearby and feel it's safer to park in our car park than outside their own homes as we are a bit off the beaten track.
Have sent to eBay for a pack of 2 stickers and will give one to my neighbour across the road.
Thanks again for the info.
