In WW2 terms we are in 1933, when TGM urged action to stop Germany. It would have been over in a few weeks and WW2 would have been prevented. But no, the handwringers and trobiscites ignored it and refused a short fight for long term peace. In the end it became so bad that even they had to accept it was time to fight so it was a much much bigger fight. Fast forward to 2024 and we are in the same position except we are under the threat of a far worse tyranny than they faced back then. Will we let history repeat itself and thus make the fight much harder that it will be in the future? There is time to prevent Britainistan if we act now. Why don't we?

This from a Tory supporter who reckons that there has been a Tory or Tory-lite government continuously since 1979, bookended by supposed wondrous leaders like Margaret Thatcher and Boris Johnson ... so, TTT, , why don't you just go to Conservative central office and take your concerns to them? And why didn't you go sooner? Or perhaps you did ...
19:26: I may be out with the actual year but it's around that period, read: The Second World War, Chapter 1 - The gathering storm - Or "How the English-speaking peoples through their unwisdom. carelessness and good nature allowed the wicked to rearm"
By Winston Churchill, the greatest of all Englishmen. Play semantics with the year if you like but this is from the horses mouth and yes I have read it.
We could have stopped WW2, we are doing it again.
Play semantics with the year if you like
or, as others would put it, demonstrate that you don't know what you're talking about. Doesn't British history get taught in schools at all? I thought it was only WW2 and the Tudors but apparently it's just the Tudors.
"I have the body of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too"
... if she said it, of course.
This will be my 3rd go at an answer - new keyboard. They are getting shorter.
I come from Bradford. My dad (top grade wool sorter & manager) praised the imported Pakistanis in the 1950s/60s. He refused (1980s) to accept my assertion that they were not integrating. "They always do," was his answer, "the Poles, the Germans... all of them." He was right............apart from understanding that Muslims will not 'give'.
I have grown very tired of trying to explain this simple fact and taking the flak which results.
Our culture will be destroyed - simple as that - through our tolerance.
as that link shows, Churchill himself was a key figure in running down Britain's postwar defences. Then he changes his mind and thinks everyone slse should do the same - which they might have done if it wasn't for his own culpability.
At least Chamberlain won Britain an extra year to rearm - the country would have been in serious trouble if the war had begun a year earlier.
TTT - // oh great thread death by mod, thanks whatever genius wrecked this discussion. //
The only moderator intervention has been the deletion of your last post because it was abusive towards another AB'er.
If you don't want a thread 'wrecked', don't be offensive to other contributors, you really ought to know that by now.
TTT - Arguing about deleted posts contravenes Site Rules, I would have thought you would have learned that by now as well.
Please stick to the point of the discussion.
Thank you.
