When did the half pence stop being circulated?

The last �p coins were issued during 1983 and demonitisation occured 31st December 1984.

Hi Milly, I remember using them and I was born in 83 too! Although it might just be because we had a stockpile of them in a piggy bank in the house combined with the fact that I can remember when gummy bears were 1/2p each in a mixture (probably got 2 for your penny instead of 1 for a 1/2p and they coudln't be bothered changing all the labels for a while)

Pence is plural - you have one penny, or one half penny. Look on a penny to confirm!
