Councils to raise profile of migrants

Councils are apparently being told by Ruth Kelly to turn on a 'charm offensive' for migrants and travelers. Her aim is to 'combat misinformation' about the minority groups. Details will include saying that the health service would 'collapse' without migrant workers. Do we need this 'charm offensive'? Or is it just an example of politicians trying to find a new subject to focus on in elections?

Just the very name Ruth Kelly says it all.A failure at everything she gets involved with.One of Blairs favoured ones. Lets ignore the welfare of all the good people of this once lovely country of ours and molly coddle travellers and migrants who have never put anything into the pot , but deserve special treatment.They dont need a charm offensive to take from us for free,it is offered on a plate.

Since when did Local Councils listen to central government, they do what the heck they like and worry about getting their mush in the local rag. And trying to convince anyone up here that migrant workers and travellers are to be welcomed, as they take the jobs for minimum wage and so mean people who need more than that to pay their mortgage can't make ends meet , would be like trying to convince Ant & Dec to return to Byker Grove.
The day anyone from out l;ocal council tried to charm me they would be talking me down from the town hall roof after a protest against the Council Tax levy.
