I remember the craze when this first became legal in the UK. My boyfriend at that time even had it installed in his car. I can remember feeling amazed that we could talk to people back in the house form the car! When did it die out? Does anyone still use it here?

Don't think so as most people have a mobile .
yes rofl, i had one as an early teen. Many a happy hour was spent mildly flirting on there until to my utter horror my mum let slip that it interfered with the tv and she could hear every word I'd said!!
Like most truck drivers, I still have one in the cab. Don't use all the US lingo, just talk normally!
My husband and I run a taxi company from our house. The radios are a godsend, and it's so handy having it just there, not only for work, but also for the simple things like what he wants for tea! We rent the radios for the pricely sum of 5 per radio per week, so it's much cheaper than any phone!
