Band for 20,000
4 Answers
Hi, I wasn't really sure which category to put this question in but anyway, here goes. I know some people who are putting on a ball, and they have approximately 20,000 to spend on live entertainment. I was wondering, what is the going rate for popular bands? How famous a band could you get for 20,000?

For two men (only one an original Beach Boy) and a small inconsequential backing band, they wanted full expenses (first class flight from California and 5 star hotel, hire of sound stage and roadies) and 250,000 up front. So I guess all in about 300,000.
For 20,000 you will get Steve Harley if you're lucky or maybe a new comer like Ray Quinn.
However, I would opt for the Brighton Beach Boys. They sound like the real thing and would make any ball a very good do as they play a myriad of different styles. I reckon they will put on a show for about 8,000 so you can spend 12k on beer!!!! (or anyother band)

I know the manager of the local Racecourse and we spoke a couple of months ago about bands and talked about Newmarket who ut on some good names.
He made mention that people like Girls Aloud charged 50,000 for a performance - which obviously meant selling a lot of tickets.
They did have Shane someone (I think he came third in X Factor or something). He was obviously less than 50,000.
If you want, I am playing squash with him later (the manager of the racecourse not Shane something) and I can enquire further.
PM me or post back.
