I can't understand why you are blaming Thatcher please explain . It was Ted Heath who took us into the EU on their terms and it was Thatcher who demanded and got 25% of a money back. She didn't like the EU and fought to get us better terms. It was Blair who caved in to the EU and gave up half of our discount , no doubt in the hope of becoming the first EU president.

Until the people in power give a definite answer, denouncing what is being said and come up with proof of their reply, we must be on our guard and not bury our heads in the sand. It is because people in the past have not taken any action that unwelcome developments have taken place, e.g. the rise of Adolph Hitler or the taking over of this country by the EU.

When people talk of the EU it's like it's a single entity that swallowed us up. We are part of the EU and have as much say in the running of it as others, probably more than most.

The alternative to EU is alliance with USA, UArab, Australia, NZ & Commonwealth.

EU drain UK for their own benefit & too restrictive of our laws.

I'm afraid we have been swallowed up by the EU . We only have 29 votes out of 345 and can be out voted 12 to one . We are overwhelmed by thousands of bills which have precedence over ours. We may need to be a part of Europe but not run by Europe. Norway and Switzerland are not in the EU and have highly successful economies. We pay vast sums of money into Europe to support inefficient and at times corrupt countries as well as an army of overpaid MEPs and bureaurats whose expenses make our MPs look almost honest.
