Right and then I'll go and read the BNP's website
And Marxism Today's
And maybe the monster raving looney parties too!

Europe has it's ups and downs like everywhere, there are things that need change - thats why we needed the Lisbon treaty to make that change easier

There is however an undeniable truth:

Apart we are a bunch of small nations - the largest of which has a GDP 1/4 of the US

Together we are the World's largest Economy
Together we have the 3rd largest population

Divided we are weak and easy prey for large multi-nationals and super powers

Together we are strong

Together Europe is a superpower and some people don't like that - people like Rupert Murdoch
I went.
I skim-read.
I've seen it all before..........

Are you actually employed by <openeurope>...........?

Do you think I agee with the BNP? Absolutely not! Things are not getting better with the Lisbon Treaty. Why do you think we will be weaker out of Europe? The people of this country have more guts in them if it comes to our maintaining our traditions and form of government. We have never needed size to achieve what we thought was best for our country in the past. Striong national government can withstand all attacks if it has the will. I didn't spend four years in the RAF in WW2 to have to witness lack of independence for this country.

jake, much as I admire you in most things your EU fanaticism is becoming a little unbalanced.

The USA is a super power as well. But if the UK were absorbed into it without the consent of its people I would object on simple democratic grounds.

The people of the UK had no idea what the EU Constitution (aka Lisbon treaty) involved because Gordon Brown bypassed a discussion of it by his shameful welshing on his pledge to give us a referendum.

The consequence is that, to add to the unelected Commission which makes so many laws to govern us, we now have an unelected President, an unelected Foreign Minister with a staff of 7000 and a EU which can now enter into treaties in its own right.

What's more (and the electorate certainly didn't know this) the EU can now go back and change any clause in that Lisbon Treaty without consulting anyone.

Was it that you never believed in democracy, jake, or have you changed in recent years?
