Well, I have to admit I don't have any experience to speak of with either Tarot Cards or Crystal Balls, but my instinct tells me it's superstitious nonsense. However, I could be wrong, and since I'm interested in all things religious or connected, I'd like to hear how it goes Society. Do please let me know.
I've quite a few sets of Tarot here - loves 'em, me - but haven't read for anyone in years. I enjoy the symbolism and the art. The Rider Waite deck is nice, a great set for beginners is the Mythic tarot based on Greek mythology.
We tend to lend meaning to the meaningless. Nothing wrong with that as long as we remain mindful of the source. Without the mind, the beings from which it arises and on which both depend for their existence, there would be no means or reason to derive meaning at all.
its just entertainment.
ask the holder how many times theyve won the lottery.this is not my opinion but my wifes....
and shes a medium......well thats what it sez in her knickers!
I'm quite interested in divination, particularly by the use of tarot cards and rune-stones.
I am open minded as to whether or not they work.
So it's a 'maybe' from me :-)
Tarot cards are great they are much better than conventional cards when you do that thing about flicking them into a bin, fly better.
Seriously when I was 18 or so I was into it in a big, big way. Books about it, classes got a short term girlfriend out of it, went up to Equinox Jimmy Page's occult book shop.
AND nothing as naomi said you could have 4 readings in a week and be told 4 different things. In a manner the "pro's" were like cold reading psychics.
If you are going to invest any effort in this, do so with more than a pinch of sceptical salt.
My cards came and they seem nice. But, I haven't had a chance as yet to do anything with them. It might take a while because I have to read the instructions and get a 'feel' before doing anything serious.
