Further to my question about Housing Benefit last week. Having explained my predicament to the owner of my property, she has agreed to reduce my rent by £100 per month.
Isn't she kind? I've done my sums and now know that I can afford to stay here.
I'm so relieved.

As someone who used to let rooms a good tenant is worth more than a few extra quid.

But won't you lose some Housing Benefit now so you might not be any better off?
That is so kind, given the circumstances of your last few months, chrissa.
That is very kind of her. It must be such a weight off your shoulders.
It is very kind...but I think Helen and Ladybirder are right.
You'll have to tell her that your AB friends are most impressed by what she has done, though postdog's comment is most salient.

Thanks all. My allowed HB came nowhere near what I am paying. I'm entitled to the two bedroom rate and my income hasn't gone up at all. That is what it's based upon.
But surely your income has gone up - by £100 a month?
Go on go go you know youor diinng too!!

Money coming into my bank account every month hasn't changed.
>The money coming into my account each month, remains the same <

Do your local council know of your "change in circumstances" ?
That is amazing. She is indeed a very special person.
<Money coming into my bank account every month hasn't changed.>

That's a bit disingenuous. Money going out has.

Aren't you supposed to notify the HB people of any changes in your circumstances? It may not make any difference, I don't know, but if I was in your shoes I would want to find out. Aren't you concerned? Imagine the embarrassment to be accused of fraud somewhere down the line.
