I read a great book recently by Tom Perotta and in it he came out with a brilliant rant against blind faith, which I'd love to be able to reproduce here but the book has now gone back to the library, but there was one part which has stuck - her refers to God as Santa Claus for grown-ups.
Why do you ask such questions? Do you get some form of sadistic satisfaction from it, hiding as you are behind anonymity. Would you have the balls to stand outside a church, mosque, synagogue or temple and face the congregation as they leave with such a question?
Personally I believe most of the sanctimoniousness comes from the screaming athiests on this site. They might believe it to be 'ignorance' but many do not, each to their own.
Khandro, I really don't understand why people complain about others asking questions concerning Religion and Spirituality in a section headed .... Religion and Spirituality.
It is defined in my dictionary as deriving pleasure from extreme cruelty, how is asking a question "extreme cruelty", or am I being sadistic in asking that question ?
