Here is an article that demonstrates how science simply moves on from its cherished best known solutions when the observations conflict with theory.

The last paragraph simply indicates "Attention will now shift to active galactic nuclei (AGN), which are powered by supermassive black holes."

No inquisition for previously accepting or ever having considered the old theory. Everyone just goes, "great that is one less possibilty ruled out. We have advanced'. Now let's test the new best idea.

Compare this with the way religions embrace (not) new information and observation.

Goodlife, //Being able to obtain a degree by repeating the prescribed formula is not proof of the presence of a rational mind. //

Indeed it isn't - but that's exactly what you do - repeat a prescribed formula - so where does that leave you?

Goodlife is so far out of his depth is is amusing. He immediately begins with the assumtion that his fundamental premises are correct.

Science can actually describe much about the maker of a cake and the reasons for baking it using social and/or economic sciences. But that is not the issue. The presumption that there must be a maker is where he walked of in the wrong direction.

As Birdie pointed out, chaos is the underlying environment of everything from the Quantum world onwards. Reality exists because in a infinite expanse of chaos it is inevitable that order will be condensed because order is one of the possible states of any system.

Life is the same. Life exists because it can. Any system with self replicating mechanisms is going to result in the dominance the the best of those mechanisms. Self ordeiring systems are all pervasive on Earth in the form of mineral crystals. Life is nothing more than incredibly complex minerology slowly formed over the entire life of the planet.

Altreay science has show that some of the most fundamental processes and structures for life are also present in the accretions formed at alkaline hydrothermal vents issuing from olivine substrates on the ocean floor.

The idea that a creator is required to produce order from the underlying chaos of reality is completely contrary to the science. Those who cling to the illusion that a higher intellligence is an essential ingredient are doing so out of a combination of [profound ignorance and oncredibly arrogant bigotry.
Goodlife doesn't even see the irony in what he says.
